Grammar corner

We have been working with different expressions. Some of these expressions are followed by a verb finishing in  … ing and other expressions are followed by a verb with to… Let´s remember them. Read and repeat aloud. Listen to yourself. It´s a good practice to remember. These verbs are followed by to… I hope to have a rest. I want to have some coffee. I would like to have some tea. I like to practise sports at weekends. I love to wake up late on Sundays. Would you like to have a drink? Do you want to go out? Do you hope to pass the exam? Do you like to study English? Do you love to read at night? These verbs are followed by … ing I enjoy listening to music. I fancy dancing. I love singing. I like practising sports. I don´t mind working on Saturdays. Would you mind closing the window? Do you enjoy doing gym? Do you fancy going for awalk? Do you love eating hamburgers? Do you like getting up early?

The verb like is followed by … ing form when it refers to a general idea. Example: I like playing soccer. The verb like is followed by to… form when it gives specific information. Example: I like to play soccer on Saturday mornings.

You are going to listen to three different people telling the same story. The presenters have different nationalities.

While you listen to the audio you must mark the suitable option which belongs to the answer for the questions you were asked.
Once you have answered all the questions by pressing button: “Check your Answers”, you will see your correct answers coloured in green and the wrong ones coloured in red.  
In those cases in which your answers were wrong, you can try again.

Listen and Fill in the blanks

Listen to a person speaking about himself.

First of all, you will listen to a person speaking about himself. When the audio is finished, you must complete a fill in the blanks exercise. If you need to listen to the audio twice, you can do it.

When finishing you can check your answers by pressing button: “Check your answers”.
If you have doubts, with button: “Correct answers”, you will be able to see the correct answers.
